Chemical Composition/Ingredients
The GHS is an acronym for The Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals. The GHS is a system for standardizing and harmonizing the classification and labelling of chemicals. Chemicals are associated with codes that define their health, physical and environmental hazards. This universal hazard communication system was developed to ensure that employers, employees and consumers are provided with adequate, practical, reliable and comprehensible information on the hazards of chemicals, so that they can take effective preventive and protective measure for their own health and safety.

EU Hazard Classification Directive 67/548/EECHazard Symbols are used to classify dangerous substances.
Hazard SymbolsRisk Phrases, denoted as a series of numbers preceded by the letter "R" indicate the nature of the special risks, in accordance with Annex III to Directive 67/548/EEC (see Article 23(2)(d) Directive 67/548/EEC). The numbers are separated by either a comma to denote separate statements concerning special risks, or an oblique stroke (/) to denote a combined statement, in a single sentence, of the special risks.
Risk PhrasesSafety Phrases, denoted as a series of numbers preceded by the letter "S" indicating the recommended safety precautions, in accordance with Annex IV to Directive 67/548/EEC. The numbers are separated by either a comma to denote separate statements concerning safety precautions, or an oblique stroke (/) to denote a combined statement, in a single sentence, of the safety precautions.

Warnings
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN! DO NOT TAKE INTERNALLY. Use only with adequate ventilation. Avoid breathing vapor and contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling. Open all windows and doors or use other means to ensure cross-ventilation and fresh air entry during application and drying. Odor is not an adequate warning for hazardous conditions.
Close container after each use. Store containers away from excessive heat and freezing. Do not store at temperatures above 120 degrees F. Store away from caustics and oxidizers -
Acute health effects
From MSDS:
Hazards Identification
Emergency Overview: A white, off -white or colored paste with a slight solvent odor. WARNING! Harmful if swallowed or absorbed through the skin. May cause eye, skin, nose, throat and respiratory tract irritation.
Routes of Exposure: Skin Contact, Skin Absorption, Inhalation, Eye Contact.
Eye Contact: May cause eye irritation.
Skin Contact: May cause skin irritation. Harmful if absorbed through the skin. Prolonged or repeated contact with skin may cause irritation.
Inhalation: Harmful if inhaled. Inhalation of high vapor concentrations can cause CNS-depression and narcosis. Inhalation may cause irritation to the respiratory tract (nose, mouth, mucous membranes).
Ingestion: Harmful if swallowed.
Medical Conditions which May be Aggravated by Exposure: None known. -
Chronic health effects
From MSDS:
Prolonged and repeated skin contact may cause irritation and possibly dermatitis. Repeated or prolonged exposure may cause respiratory system damage. Overexposure may cause kidney, cardiovascular, skin and liver damage. -
Carcinogenicity
This product contains vinyl acetate which is classified as a class 2B carcinogen by IARC. Vinyl acetate was found to cause cancer in the respiratory tract of laboratory animals. There is no evidence that vinyl acetate causes cancer in humans. The IARC published a monograph on vinyl acetate (1995). In this monograph, IARC indicates ***there is inadequate evidence in humans for carcinogenicity of vinyl acetate. There is limited evidence in experimental animals for the carcinogenicity of vinyl acetate.*** Normally, this lack of conclusive evidence would place a substance in the IARC 3 classification (not classified as a human carcinogen). However, because vinyl acetate is metabolized to acetaldehyde, which has an IARC 2B (possibly carcinogenic to humans) classification, it also has been listed under Category 2B.
